Only vetted organisations — never open campaigns

me-you-us is not an open fundraising site. Anyone cannot simply create a campaign and collect money. Every project on the platform belongs to a vetted Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) that governs, or is formally affiliated with, the protected area behind that project — for example, the authority responsible for a national park. We do not host generic or individual fundraising campaigns.

How we vet an organisation

Before an NPO’s project is listed, we review:

• Legal registration — confirming the organisation is a properly registered NPO, with its registration number on record.
• Protected-area affiliation — confirming it genuinely governs or is affiliated with the conservation area behind the project.
• Governance & financial management — reviewing how the organisation is run and how it accounts for funds.
• Conservation track record — looking for a demonstrable history of real conservation work.

Independent KYC by our payment provider

On top of our own checks, every receiving organisation is independently KYC-verified (Know Your Customer) by our regulated payment provider before it can receive a cent. That means an accredited financial institution has separately verified the organisation and the bank account funds are paid into.

Your money goes directly to the organisation

me-you-us is a technology provider — we never collect, hold or pool charitable funds. When you donate, our licensed payment gateway splits your transaction at the point of payment. After the gateway’s own processing fees, 70% is routed directly to the receiving NPO’s own account and 30% is our platform fee for building and running the service. Tax status is shown on every project

Some NPOs are also registered as Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) with Section 18A approval, which means a tax certificate can be prepared for your donation. Others are not. Each project page clearly shows whether the receiving organisation is a registered PBO, so you know up front whether your donation may be tax-deductible.

Ongoing monitoring

Vetting is not a one-time event. We continue to monitor the organisations and projects on the platform, and we act on any concern about an organisation’s status, governance, or use of funds.
